I just wipe skin some dish soap and paper towels. Can the mat be cut to a smaller size? There's a hem and piping around the outer edge. If you were to trim that down, you could see some fraying. But it is certainly thin enough to trim with scissors or a cutting blade. Which is more durable, this fireproof mat or a rubber grill mat. The fireproof mat is woven from high temperature resistant glass fiber, and the two sides are coated with high temperature resistant fireproof silicone. Durable and easy to clean. Can this mat be used on grass? Sure, but I wouldn’t. Ground will get funky underneath and kill the grass anyways. Makes more sense to keep a deck or patio clean. I’d just put the grill on the grass directly Is this mat okay to use on a composite deck? Absolutely. That is why it was purchased.
